Privacy Policy

Lazy to Work is a collection of free browser games. You can play every game without an account and without giving us anything. This page explains what is collected when you do use the site, why, and how to get rid of it.

Playing without an account

You do not need to sign in to play. If you never sign in, we do not create a profile for you and nothing you do is tied to your name or email address.

Games still store a few things in your own browser (in localStorage) so they behave sensibly: your best times and scores, which difficulty you last played, unfinished games you can resume, which trivia questions you have already been shown, and a random guest identifier. This data sits on your device, is never sent to us, and disappears if you clear your browser storage.

If you create an account

Accounts exist for one reason: so your scores can appear on the leaderboards and follow you between devices. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, either with a Google account or with an email address and password.

When you have an account we store:

• Your email address and, if you signed in with Google, the display name on that account. These are held by Firebase Authentication, not shown publicly.
• A nickname you choose. This is what other players see on leaderboards — your real name and email are never displayed there.
• Your scores and times per game and difficulty, plus the country your visit came from, so that country rankings work.
• Saved game states for games you can resume.

Your country is worked out from the network your request arrives on (Cloudflare's edge), as a two-letter code such as GE or US. We do not store your IP address ourselves and we do not attempt to locate you more precisely than the country.

How many people play each game

We keep a simple count of how many times each game has been played, in total and per country, to build the "most played" list on the home page. These are plain counters — they are not linked to individual players.

Analytics

Two analytics tools run on the site:

• Microsoft Clarity — records anonymised usage, including heatmaps and session replays of how pages are clicked and scrolled, so we can find broken or confusing parts of the site. Clarity masks text input by default. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics — aggregate page views and performance timings. It does not use cookies and does not fingerprint visitors.

Both tell us how the site is used in aggregate. Neither is used to build an advertising profile of you.

Cookies and similar storage

We do not use advertising cookies. The storage the site does use is: browser localStorage for your game progress and settings (described above), and the cookies Firebase Authentication needs to keep you signed in if you have an account. Microsoft Clarity sets its own identifiers as described in its policy.

Who your data is shared with

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers. It is processed by the services that run the site: Google Firebase (accounts, scores, saved games), Cloudflare (hosting, network-level country, analytics) and Microsoft Clarity (usage analytics). Each acts as a processor under its own terms.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.

Your choices

• Delete local data — clear your browser's site data for lazytowork.com. All local scores, saves and settings are gone immediately.
• Delete your account — email [email protected] and we will delete the account, its leaderboard entries and its saved games.
• Change your public name — the nickname can be changed at any time from the account menu.
• Opt out of analytics — a browser that blocks trackers, or a content blocker, will stop Clarity and Cloudflare Analytics from loading. The games keep working.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will change with it.
